Pip's Stack & Carry teaches column addition with carrying — the standard written method. Children stack two (or three) numbers in a place-value grid and add one column at a time, starting with the ones. When a column adds up to ten or more, it can't fit in one place, so the carried ten visibly hops up to the next column — the same "box up ten" idea from Pip's Adding Bakery, now written down as a digit. Adding three stacks pushes a column past twenty, so older bakers meet carrying two at once. It's the abstract step that follows the hands-on cookies-and-trays game.
